Here we go....

It has been approximately 18 months since we've been in a position to offer our student athletes an opportunity to participate in athletic events while representing their high school. Now, here we are.

With COVID-19 still impacting our daily lives we are embarking on a inter-scholastic season like no other. There are MANY considerations that need to be made and much patience that has to go into every decision in order to keep our student-athletes, coaches, staff, officials and families safe.

With that, our sport conveners are hard at work developing schedules and protocols that adhere to the individual provincial sport organizations' return to play guidelines, while still adhering to the health and safety guidelines our school divisions are required to adhere to. Not an easy, nor simple task.

Of particular note, SPECTATORS ARE NOT ALLOWED at any of our indoor sporting events for the foreseeable future. This is to provide the safest possible environment to all our participating teams while they are engaging in competition.

Each sport will have a subset of their specific COVID protocols that will need to be followed by all participants. We ask that our our athletes, coaches and families become familiar with these protocols so that they are best informed prior to participation in these events. These protocols will be posted on each of the individual sport pages on our website for easy and convenient access.

Wishing all the best to all our participating student-athletes!

Congratulations Class of 2021

On behalf of all the KPAC coaches, volunteers and organizers, we would like to extend our warmest congratulations to the entire graduating class of 2021.

In a school year like no other in recent history, we hold onto the hope that all the 2021 graduates can look back on the many athletic opportunities that they were able to have over their four years of high school with great fondness and positivity. We hope that these opportunities provided you with strong positive memories even in spite of what seems to be a "lost year".

Know that you had a positive impact on your school by participating in school sport, as you brought people together to cheer for you and share in your sporting journeys, as well as being an integral part of the spirit that defines your school.

Take with you these fond memories and positive experiences, but do not forget that although your high school years are over, your pursuit of sport, for sports sake, should not be.

Never forget to just go out & play.

All the best to you all in all that you decide to do and in all that comes your way.

-Cheers.

Looking Forward to 2021-22

As Manitoba struggles through the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is with great hope and excitement that we look forward to returning to interscholastic athletic competitions in the 2021-22 school year.

Although it is too early to make any determinations of what next year will look like, the KPAC executive  along with the individual sport convenors are diligently looking at ways to safely offer these sport opportunities when we return to school in September of 2021.

The decisions governing return to sport competitions in September will remain in the hands of the provincial sport organizations (PSOs), the member school divisions and the individual sport convenors.

In the meantime, we encourage everyone to continue to follow the current health orders and take advantage of the opportunity to get vaccinated. The sooner we can curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the sooner we can safely return to sport.

Until then, stay safe and healthy everyone.
